Our
team is perhaps first in India to have developed/ implemented
these standards for a leading telecom company in India.
With the rapid advances in telecommunications technologies
of the recent past, the number of vendors supplying
equipment to carriers has increased. More than ever,
service providers need integrated end to end management
across devices and technologies from many vendors. They
want to manage the multi vendor/multi technology devices
through a common management system that integrates across
these diverse set of devices.
The Tele-Management Forum (TMF) standards for multi-technology,
multi-vendor network management (TMF MTNM or TMF 513)
provide new opportunities for the integrated end-to-end
management and provisioning of multi-vendor networks.
The TMF Standard facilitates this by enabling a NMS
to create and manage end to end connections and devices
across TMF complaint EMSs.
In
order to enable such integrated management, telecommunications
equipment providers need to support TMF interfaces in
their EMS products. To help equipment vendors more easily
deliver TMF interfaces.
This
standard allows for:
• Inventory Discovery
• Connection Provisioning
• Equipment Provisioning
• Performance Management
• Fault Management
Consequently
enables
• Rapid Service Delivery by decreasing service
activation time
• Fast introduction of new technologies: New Technologies
can be introduced in the Network without causing major
changes to the interfaces at the Network Management
Level.
• Increased Operating Efficiency through automation
and integration of network management and element management
systems.
• Enable multi-vendor interoperability affording
service providers the option of choosing various vendor
products.
We
developed Telecom solutions based on standards TMF 513,
608 & 814 for a major telecom organization in India.
Benefits
to the end user or customer
As a consequence of the Service Providers’ benefits,
the customers will benefit by:
• An improved service: the provisioning of new
service will be fast and the unavailability of the service
will be limited due to the correlation of network fault
to services.
• Reduction of prices: The reduction of Service
Provider cost will lead to the reduction of service
prices.
